She was best known as a singer of Czech klezmer music. Biography Ludmila Pisecká was born to a Jewish family. Her father, Bořivoj Pisecký (1910–1981), worked as a dancer at the Vojtěch-Slavínská theatre. She and her sister, Eva Pisecká (1941–1991), were both interested in dance. Ludmila studied ballet at the Brno conservatory from 1960 to 1963. She worked as an instructor and a choreographer for the Czech and Slovak troupes of the International Federation for Cerebral Palsy, from 1974 to 1996. She also worked as a teacher at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno from 1964 to 1967. Ludmila married to Jiri Langer, an accordionist, in 1964. Her husband died in 1971.
